I began my counseling career in 1997 working for a community behavioral health provider in the Arizona Verde Valley serving adults with serious mental illnesses. Throughout my 16 years with that organization I developed skills to empower individuals to move forward in their recovery from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief, trauma, relationship and vocational challenges.
After 16 years with the behavioral health clinic, I worked 9 years combined as a Director of Integrated Wellness and Clinical Director for two statewide Peer and Family Run Organizations. In those capacities I worked with adults, weaving a holistic “mind, body, spirit” approach to wellness, respecting the relationship and impact between the mental, physical and spiritual bodies of which we are composed. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Arizona since 2005, and am on the AZBBHE Clinical Supervisor Registry. In addition to private practice, I Chair the Northern Arizona Peer and Family Coalition
My approach to counseling is Person-Centered, embracing Carl Rogers belief that human development is grounded in the actualizing tendency. I provide a climate of genuineness, empathy and positive regard to help you build personal power, self-acceptance, self-awareness, and self-trust. Your privacy and confidentiality is sacred and honored, compliant with federal and state regulations.
Behavioral health issues are common. One in five adults experience a mental health issue in a given year in the United States. If you are the 1 in 5, let me help you gain the tools and support to put emotional pain and challenges behind you.
